Your rest countdown now runs on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Log the set, skip the rest, or add fifteen seconds without unlocking. Plus rest lengths that match the lift you are actually doing.
Version 2.0.1 takes the rest timer off your screen and puts it on your Lock Screen — and stops treating every exercise as if it needed the same rest.
Start a set and lock your phone — the countdown keeps running on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Tap to log the set, skip the rest, or nudge it by fifteen seconds either way. The timer is drawn by iOS itself, so it stays accurate whether your phone is in your pocket or face down on the bench. Needs iOS 16.2; the buttons need iOS 17.
A heavy squat and a lateral raise never needed the same rest, but one global timer treated them identically. Turn on Rest By Exercise Type and compounds get three minutes while isolation work gets one — and the live session tells you which rule produced the number, so a rest that suddenly tripled reads as deliberate. Off by default; your existing timer stays exactly as it was.
Trained Push then Pull? The AI Coach now offers Legs before you have to think about it. It follows whichever rotation you are actually on — Push/Pull/Legs or Upper/Lower — and names the sessions it read to get there. Always a suggestion, never applied for you, and it stays quiet when there is no rotation to continue.
The thought "I would rather see less of this" arrives during the set, not later in a settings screen. A Less Often control on the live exercise card steps that lift down one level each tap — high, normal, low, then excluded — and future AI sessions pick it accordingly. Excluded is the floor, and it is reversible from Exercise Preferences.
The weight picker was built around barbell plates, which meant dumbbell lifts skipped straight past sizes sitting on the rack. Pick a dumbbell exercise and you now get real dumbbell increments — 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5 and up — instead of jumping in fives.
A frame-by-frame review of every generated exercise clip found a batch demonstrating the wrong movement — a shrug performed as a lateral raise, a row that finished standing upright. Those are pulled. Where a clip is gone, the app falls back to a professionally shot demo instead. Coverage is lower and honest, which for a training app is the right trade.
Changing reps no longer snaps back to the previous number. The rest timer stays put while you scroll your sets. Solo workouts stopped calling themselves Group Sessions. Workout breakdowns list every set instead of repeating the first, so drop sets finally show up. Swap suggestions show a photo and a readable name, and the Add Exercise filters are legible again.
Shipped 12 August 2026 — exercise photos, per-muscle volume charts, PR cards, and workouts that survive a locked phone.
Generate Workout, Live Session, and the Swap panel now show a real photo of every exercise โ overlaid with a "TARGETS" muscle map so you see both the pose and the muscles trained in one glance. 47 lifts shipped with photos so far; everything else falls back to a brand-new highlighted muscle silhouette.
New chart in History โ Analytics. One coloured line per muscle group over the last 12 weeks โ Chest, Back, Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps, Quads, Hamstrings, Glutes, Calves, Core, Forearms. Tap any muscle in the legend to toggle. Spot what's growing and what's getting neglected at a glance.
Hit a personal record? A new red-accented flex card now leads your session summary โ hero weight ร reps in giant Bebas type, "ALSO HIT" list if you landed multiple PRs, one-tap share to Instagram, iMessage, WhatsApp. Every shared card now includes a clickable liftcrewai.app link in the caption too.
Lock your phone, take a call, switch to Spotify โ your workout stays exactly where you left it. Session state is now persisted on every change, with a 12-hour window so an abandoned workout from yesterday doesn't resurrect. The timer keeps wall-clock accuracy on resume โ when you come back, you're not behind.
Your Bench / Squat / Deadlift PRs moved from the bottom of the Home screen to the top, right under your stats. Bigger weight numbers in Bebas display font, accent-tinted cards so they read as your scoreboard โ not as another action button.
Font sizes bumped 20โ40% across Live Session, AI Coach, and Home โ no more squinting at 8pt set counters. Dark themes lifted to WCAG AA contrast targets so cards stand apart from the background and muted text is genuinely readable. Same six themes, much sharper.
Every flex card โ Summary, Breakdown, MVP, Crew, and the new PR celebration โ now drops a clickable liftcrewai.app URL into the share caption. When your followers tap, they actually land on the app. QR codes and invite links continue to use the canonical domain.
