COMPARISON

LIFTCREW VS FITLY

These two get compared a lot and they shouldn't be. Fitly is a platform for individuals, trainers and gyms — rosters, client programming, invoicing, multi-location reporting. LiftCrew is for three friends who want to run the same session on a Tuesday night with nobody coaching them. If you have clients, Fitly is the right answer.

Compared 15 August 2026 against fitly.pro and its pricing page. Fitly prices are as listed on their site; LiftCrew prices are Canadian dollars. Fitly is a trademark of its owner; we are not affiliated with it.

THE SHORT VERSION

Fitly's own headline is "The fitness platform for individuals, trainers, and gyms" — solo lifter up to multi-location studio. Its centre of gravity is the trainer–client relationship: build a program, assign it to a client, message them, invoice them, report on them.

LiftCrew has no clients, no coach and no dashboard. It has a crew: a handful of people of different strength who want one session and one screen. Everyone's loads come out of their own numbers, and everyone's sets land on everyone else's phone as they happen.

Two useful products, two different rooms.

  • You coach people and need a roster, check-ins and invoicing in one place.
  • You run a gym or studio and want standardised programs across a trainer team.
  • You want a genuinely free individual tier, or you want to train from a browser.
  • You want the largest possible exercise library to build from.

Choose LiftCrew if…

  • There's no coach — just you and the friends you actually lift with.

  • You want to see who's lifting, who's resting and who's next without asking.
  • You want the session generated for you rather than programmed by hand.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK

Is Fitly free?

Fitly has a free tier for individual users covering workout tracking, its routine builder and a 30-day progress history. Its paid plans are listed at $5 a month for Individual, $50 a month for Trainer and $300 a month for Gym, and its own FAQ says it doesn't offer trial periods on paid plans today. LiftCrew has no free-forever tier — it's a 15-day free trial with no credit card, then CA$4.99 a month.

Can you do a live group workout in Fitly?

Fitly's site describes real-time tracking as your own data syncing across your own devices, and its group-shaped features — messaging and check-ins, gym member challenges and leaderboards — are listed as coming soon. It describes no shared live session where several people run the same workout and see each other's sets land as they lift. That shared session is the thing LiftCrew is built around.

Does Fitly calculate a different weight for each person in the same session?

Fitly's model is a trainer or a template assigning a program to a client, and its Smart Coach program generation is listed as coming soon. We found no description of one session being scaled to several people's own strength at once. LiftCrew does exactly that: same exercises, loads derived from each member's logged 1-rep maxes, and you can override any of them before you lift.

I'm a personal trainer. Which one should I use?

Fitly. It has a trainer dashboard, client rosters, session packages and Stripe invoicing, and a gym tier on top of that. LiftCrew has none of that and isn't trying to — it's built for a group of friends with no coach in the room.
