LIFTCREW VS STRONG
Strong is a very good solo workout tracker with a free tier and years of history behind it. LiftCrew is a different thing: one live session shared by a whole crew, with the weights scaled to each person. If you train alone, Strong is probably the right answer. If you train with people, keep reading.

THE SHORT VERSION
Strong answers "what did I lift, and am I getting stronger?" LiftCrew answers "how do three of us with different strength levels train the same session together, right now, without anyone doing plate maths in their head?"
Those are different jobs. Strong being free at the entry level is a genuine advantage and we're not going to pretend otherwise — the question is whether a solo log is what you actually need.

PICK THE RIGHT ONE
Choose Strong if…
- You train alone, or you train near friends but log separately.
- You want a free app and the free tier covers what you do.
- You already have years of history in it and don't want to move.
- You prefer building your own routines to having one generated.
Choose LiftCrew if…
- Two or more of you want to run the same session despite different strength.
- You're tired of shouting "what weight are you on?" across the rack.
- You want to see who's lifting, who's resting and who's next without asking.
- You want the session planned for you and the loads worked out per person.
QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK
Is Strong free?
Yes, at the entry level. Strong's own site says "Strong Accounts are Free Forever", with a paid PRO upgrade on top (listed at US$4.99 a month or US$29.99 a year on the US App Store, checked 15 August 2026). If you only need to log your own sets and the free version covers you, Strong costs you nothing and we're not going to try to beat free. LiftCrew is a paid app after a 15-day trial because it's doing something different: running one live session across several people at once.
Can you do a group workout in Strong?
Strong is built around your own log. Its site lists workout sharing — sending a session after you've finished it — and describes no live shared session where your training partners' sets appear on your screen as they lift. That live session is the thing LiftCrew is built around.
Does Strong calculate a different weight for each person?
Strong tracks one person's numbers, which is exactly what a solo tracker should do — its calculators (plates, warm-up sets) work out your loads, not your crew's. LiftCrew takes one session and scales every exercise to each member's own logged 1-rep maxes, so a crew of mixed strength runs the same workout without anyone guessing at the plates. You can still override any load before you lift it.
Can I use both?
Plenty of people do. Keep Strong for solo days if you like its logging, and use LiftCrew for the sessions you train with your crew. Neither app locks your history away from you.
